Individual bite splints, snoring appliances and sports guards for all ages.
The most common bite splint is a stabilisation splint for the upper jaw. The appliance is designed using a 3D scan and milled to help reduce clenching and grinding. Excessive tooth contact causes wear and can contribute to symptoms in the jaw joints and chewing muscles. Neck and shoulder discomfort and headaches are also often associated with the bite.
There are different appliances for snoring and mild sleep apnoea. Our preferred option is the Blue Respire appliance, with separate upper and lower components that guide the lower jaw forwards. The amount of advancement can be adjusted. The appliances are individually made using 3D scans.
Sports guards are useful in contact sports. Unlike other dental splints, they are at least partly flexible. Our dental technicians work with us to make individual, sport-specific guards based on 3D scans.
